Underwriting Assistant

We’re looking for an Underwriting Assistant.

Reporting to the Head of Space and Underwriter, Financial Institutions, you will fulfil a newly-created role at the company, supporting both the Space and Specialty teams at Hamilton Underwriting Limited. You will be asked to carry out a number of specific actions:

  • Maintain underwriting files, and create and monitor renewal lists
  • Liaise with underwriting staff to ensure data is complete and accurate
  • Perform pre-bind quality assurance and contract certainty checks through WordSensa, as well as pre- bind sanction checks
  • Work with underwriting support personnel to resolve data-entry queries, respond to regular control and exception reports, and collaborate with other underwriting assistants to maintain team standards and reach service and quality targets
  • Liaise with the company’s finance team to answer questions and monitor premium, oversee the premium notice of cancellation process, and monitor Credit Control for accuracy and timely progress
  • Liaise with brokers regarding premium income monitoring, late premiums and premium cancellations, as well as collate responses and manage queries

Delegated Underwriting Authority Technician

We’re looking for a Delegated Underwriting Authority Technician.

Reporting to the Delegated Underwriting Manager, this professional will administer and monitor policy, premium and claims bordereaux as required under the binding authority. In assisting the Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) team, contract administration tasks include:

  • Management of bordereaux, analysis of Estimated Premium Income and liaison with underwriters
  • Administration of the approval process, administration and maintenance of risk-attaching contracts
  • Provision of guidance and advice on the setting up of delegated underwriting arrangements across all lines of business to Syndicate underwriters
