Alex Baker

Chief Actuary

Alex Baker was a Syndicate Approved Actuary with Chubb Managing Agent Limited (CMAL) from June 2013 until joining Hamilton in March 2016 and was responsible for all actuarial work for the Managing Agent. With Chubb Insurance Company of Europe and CMAL, Alex served as a Capital Modelling Actuary from May 2011 through June 2013. Alex was a key contributor to Syndicate 1882’s internal model approval process under Solvency II.

Previously, Alex was with Chaucer Syndicates as a Capital Modelling Actuary October 2009 until May 2011, where his role included service on the Syndicate Managing Boards for two Lloyd’s Syndicates. Prior to joining Chaucer, he was a Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers for six years from 2003 until 2009.

Alex achieved FIA qualifications from the Institute of Actuaries in 2006 and a Masters in Mathematics from Oxford University in 2002.
